June 1997 has been marked National Safety Month and there are several Internet sites that users can access to learn more about safety and health. Internet sites include OSHWEB, Lowe's Home Safety Council, Safe Within, Ask Mr. Traffic, Medicine Net, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Healthy living. Topics include workplace safety (June 1-6), home safety (June 17-13), first aid and community safety (June 14-20) and driving and bicycle safety (June 21-27).

Article Abstract:
An overview is presented of the development of safety programs for company employees who work from home. The General Accounting Office estimate that 16.5 million employees telecommute at least once per month, with as many as 9.3 million once per week, yet employers are not currently liable for the safety of the office at home.
