Every organization needs to have an elaborate emergency management plan to tackle disasters such as chemical spills, worker injuries, earthquakes and floods. A state of preparedness helps a business to recover faster and turns out to be more economical in the long run. According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, every dollar invested in prevention of an incident, saves $7 in recovery expenses. Safety professionals should learn the practice of incident command system (ICS) in order to manage resources effectively during an emergency.
