Dennis Banks is an American Indian leader and social activist and one of the founders of the American Indian Movement and for his militant activities on behalf of his people. Banks took the route of poverty and crime like most of his Indian peers during his early life until he realized his situation and began his efforts to expose the injustice done to American Indians.
