Donna Tartt, a writer was born in Greenwood, Mississippi on December 23, 1963. Her first novel that made her celebrity was, The Secret History (1992), which she began while she was a student at Bennington College, and was published when she was 28. It is based on a group of highly intellectual young men and women engaged in debauchery and ultimately murder.
