Frank McCourt wrote his first book, Angela's Ashes, in mid-1960s which is a story about growing up poor and the difficulties that their family endured in Limerick, Ireland. The book, in 1997, became highly acclaimed and received many honors, including the 1997 Pulitzer Prize for biography.
