Heather Wilson, a Republican US representative from New Mexico is best known nationally for calling in early 2006 for a congressional inquiry into the National Security Agency's practice of domestic wiretapping, issued related the banning of legalized abortion, homosexual rights and adoption. In her position, while helping to make the George W. Bush administration's case for military action in Afghanistan and Iraq, she also criticized the white House for the lack of sufficient US troop strength in Iraq.

Tom Glavine, a 20-year veteran of Major League Baseball (MLB) and a member of the New York Mets, has proven to be one of the sport's most durable pitchers. Glavine spent the first 16 years of his career with the Atlanta Braves, the Mets' chief rival in the National League Eastern Division, where he won the National League Cy Young Award in 1991 and 1998, while was also elected to the All-Star Game eight times.

M. Jodi Rell

Article Abstract:

M. Jodi Rell became Connecticut's 87th governor on July 1, 2004, amidst federal probes into alleged corruption on the part of her predecessor, John Rowland. As governor since Rowland's resignation, Rell has continued her work in nondivisive areas, taking on the job of restructuring Connecticut's much-criticized State Ethics Commission.
