Actor Michael Keaton is known for his portrayal of the comic book hero Batman. Born in Pittsburgh, Keaton exhibited his thespian leanings as a child by doing impersonations. After dropping out from college, his first acting role was as a mentally deranged person in a documentary. Movie roles followed and although his career went through ups and downs, he is now very successful.

Keaton, who was born in 1946 in Los Angeles, CA, began writing, directing and performing in her own plays as a child. A 1968 role in Woody Allen's play 'Play It Again, Sam,' helped launch a successful acting career. She became a star after playing the lead in the movie 'Annie Hall' in 1977.
