Abbas Kiarostami has been admired and compared with the late Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray by his colleagues. The Iranian filmmaker has made films for more than 30 years since 1969, despite restrictive censorship in Iran. His career began when he helped create the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults in Iran.

Kitano, Takeshi
Article Abstract:
Takeshi Kitano is well-known for creating films about tough-guy dramas that end in tragedy. Aside from being a filmmaker, Kitano also writes columns for six weekly Japanese newspapers and has written over 55 books. Kitano's flair for comedy was seen during the 10 years he worked with comedian Beat Kiyoshi.
