Article Abstract:

Lora Simpson, a photographer and video artist became the first African-American woman to exhibit in the prestigious Venice Biennale and to have a solo exhibition in the eProjectsE series at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City. Simpson, who is now serving in the faculty at the International Center for Photography, is a recipient of the Louis Comfort Tiffany Award and was a finalist for the Hugo Boss Prize in 1998.
