Lovins' ideas regarding energy conservation have been recognized by his colleagues and even the Clinton administration. He is currently managing the Rocky Mountain Institute, a nonprofit organization that develops and promotes ecologically-friendly energy sources.

Joseph Rotblat, a Polish-born British physicist, was born on Nov 4, 1908 into a poor Jewish family who sold vodka, which was distilled illegally at home, in order to earn a living. At the age of 86, Rotblat won the Nobel Peace Prize for striving to stop the spread of nuclear weapons.
