Alexander Graham Bell: Canadian-American hero
Article Abstract:
Bell's family studied both speech and sound because his mother was deaf and his father, a professor in Scotland, invented a system of speech to train teachers of the deaf. The family moved to Canada in 1870, and Bell later moved to the US. Canada, Germany, and the US have honored Bell on stamps.

1944 railroad issue celebrates transcontinental link
Article Abstract:
The 1944 wartime issue of the railroad stamp commemorated the diamond jubilee of the rail linkup between the Central Pacific and Union Pacific railroads. The stamp design is described as well as the ceremony which took place May 10, 1869 at Promontory Point, UT.

The Netherlands postal museum

The Dutch postal museum was established in 1928 and moved to a new building in 1952. The exhibitions in the four-story museum depict the evolution of the postal service in the Netherlands.
