Maureen Guinness played a key role in society in London, England, in the 1930s and 1940s. In the 1950s and 1960s, she was one of the international set who moved from place to place around the world. She became a director of the family business, the Guinness brewery, in 1949, and was also involved in charitable works. She was very attractive and personable, and had a very forthright manner. She still held lively annual dinner parties for the Queen Mother when in her 90s.

Squish-squash, chinky chose

Ted Turner used the word 'squish' when speaking, but journalists changed it to 'squash.' Variations on the word which sounds like a mashing sound, is presented. The chant 'chinky chose' probably refers, in a negative manner, to Chinese people. The 'chose' may be used so that the next line rhymes.
