Craft jewelers have begun to use gold in their designs to attract buyers in the high-priced market. Their works bear the mark of individual craftsmanship that are only available at craft shows held by groups such as the Jewelers of America and the American Craft Council.

Embracing the rainbow

Jewelry designers have increasingly employed semi-precious stones and have welcomed exchanges among practitioners of gem-carving and metalsmithing. These designs are used to accentuate and contrast the metalwork even as they create unique works of art.
