This is the third time Denmark has issued stamps with inter-Scandinavian themes There are numerous summer festivals throughout the country featuring jazz, rock and folk music. This is the 25th anniversary of the Roskilde and the Tonder music festivals. They are honored with postage stamps.

Newfoundland honored Sir Humphrey Gilbert in 1933

Gilbert was a soldier, navigator, explorer and colonist of what today is known as Newfoundland. His life and career in the service of England is recounted. He received a token from Queen ELizabeth I in 1579. The 1933 commemorative is described.
