Advice is given on collecting stamps as an investment. Holding current mint sheets may tie up money over the years and the sheets may never be worth much more than the original price. Rare stamps are a good investment however. It is best to buy stamps when one can and not wait for falling prices.

Conventions in civic centers not what it used to be

Philately has withstood the test of time

Stamp collecting has been popular since before 1860 and has spread to all parts of the world. Stamps are more valuable if they are rare, in demand, and in good condition. The age of a stamp does not affect its value.
