Expose those engine cylinders!

Article Abstract:

A technique for duplicating the exposed radial engine of a model aircraft is presented. Modelers are advised to build a dummy radial first and put it to the actual engine. A cowl should be then made between the firewall and the back of the dummy radial.

Dummy cylinder engines and valve covers can be constructed in place of an authentic radial engine in model airplanes using plywood, aluminum tubing, and balsa wood. Detailed instructions, diagrams, and finishing procedures are provided.
