High-tech tuna tagging
Article Abstract:
Researchers are studying bluefin tuna by placing electronic archival tags inside their peritoneal cavities. The tags provide data on swimming depth and internal temperature. Scientists are developing a 'pop-up' tag that will float to the surface and then provide data. Each tag will cost about $5,000.
