In a star sapphire

Article Abstract:

Sri Lankan sapphires including the 50.4-carat purple star sapphire will be displayed in the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History in Sep. 1997. The star sapphire shows many inclusions such as three sets of rutile needles, mineral apatite and a second sapphire crystal.

Aikinite in phenakite

Article Abstract:

Aikinite is a rare sulfosalt composed of lead, copper and bismuth. This crystal is usually located in massive material with tiny crystals very indistiguishable. Aikinite is also found as inclusions in phenakite in San Miguel Di Piricicaba, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Muscovite in topaz

Article Abstract:

Muscovite is a potassium aluminosilicate hydroxide of the mica mineral group often found with beryl, quartz, garnet and topaz. The muscovite associated with topaz specimens are on display at the Smithsonian Institution.
