Israel new issues honor popular outdoor sports
Article Abstract:
On Feb 20, 1996, a 3-stamp set with designs depicting mountain bike riding, paragliding, and volleyball was issued by Israel. A brief discussion of the three popular sports is presented. Another stamp issue on the same day was one commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Israel Cattle Breeders' Assn.

Tannou Touva continues to delight collectors

Tannou Touva was once part of the Soviet Union. It is now an autonomous republic. Its people are Turkish in race and language although a minority of Mongols also live there. A brief history of the areas is recounted. Two attractive stamp sets issued by the Soviets in 1934 are described,

Winston Churchill is a popular subject for topical collectors

January 24, 1995 marked the thirtieth year of CHurchill's death. His role in World War II inspired many countries to issue stamps honoring him during the past 30 years. A listing of the many commemorative stamps issued and the issuing countries, is given.
