Minolta 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 xi AF
Article Abstract:
The Minolta 100-300mm f4.5-5.6 xi AF, priced at $487, is easy to handle. The exclusion of distance, depth-of-field and focal-length measuring scales is a minor drawback. Flare appeared at f/16 at both 100mm and 200mm. At 300mm, the field curvature was abnormal, affecting 'image quality' from astigmatism.

Tamron 70-210mm f/2.8 LD AF
Article Abstract:
The Tamron 70-210mm f/2.8 LD AF, priced at $1,399, produces sharp images. It is difficult, however, to focus manually. There is linear distortion which limits the lens' application for architectural photography. It lacks, also, a depth-of-field scale.
