Photography of animals in Africa requires some planning ahead to yield the best possible photographs. Recommended national parks are Masai Mara National Reserve and Samburu National reserve, which are both in Kenya. It is best to go during the seasons when something is happening with the animals, for example, migration or having babies. It is also a good idea to stay for at least two weeks. Tips on equipment, travel arrangements and finding the right guide are presented.

An exposure of 1/30 of a second to several minutes or hours in filming events such as star trails and lightning. Exposures of 1/60, 1/125 and 1/250 are recommended for portraits and snapshops while 1/500 is for fast-moving subjects.
