Both the Kodak DC210 and Agfa ePhoto 1280 cameras are priced around $850. The DC210 has the highest true resolution of any comparably-priced digital camera, and has an LCD screen for image preview. Agfa's product bundles PhotoGenie software for image editing after scanning photos into a computer.

The image quality of a point and shoot digital camera is not really better than the quality of a standard 35mm camera. The advantage of digital at this level is the amount of pictures the camera will store and downloading capabilities. The Kodak DC 50 and the Fuji DS 220 offered the best images.
