Several stories are recounted about factual errors which appeared in postage stamp designs. One example is a design with Pres. Lincoln and his son depicted as reading but they are really looking at a photo album. Another stamp shows smoke in one direction and the flag blowing in the other.

Two Lincoln stamps omitted

The Scott catalog lists the postage stamps issued by the US Postal Service. Volume One of the 1993 edition left out two stamps that picture Lincoln, numbers 2081 and 2106, both issued in 1986.
