The Scale Masters Championships conducted its 18th show in Sep 18 to 21, 1997 in Texas with 41 participants competing. Eugene Job with his airplane Hawker Sea Fury won in the finals. To get into the finals, contestants must first break in the top 30 of the qualifying scores in regional competitions.

4-stroke scale fly-in and expo
Article Abstract:
A competition took place on Jun 20-21 in the Woodland-Davis Aeromodelers field near Sacramento, CA. Planes were judged according to the realistic sound of their engines. First place winner was a Polikarpov PO-2 biplane.

The twentieth annual US Scale Masters Championship, which was held in Phoenix, AZ, is described. The entrants to this competition have to qualify and in the championships there are two events, Team and Expert.
