Slabbing on shares
Article Abstract:
Stones cannot be polished without cutting it, an activity which requires a saw. However, if one does not have a saw, he could have a lapidary club member cut the rock for him. Called slabbing on shares, the agreement will have the rock owner pay the club member with pieces of the rock.

"Shoe shining" cabochons

Cabochon can be shaped into a smoother curve to achieve a better polish through the use of a sanding cloth held between two pieces of wood. Detailed instructions on the construction of such a device for polishing cabochon is provided.
