Space fillers never get better
Article Abstract:
Stamps are classified as space fillers if that is simply their function in a collection. They are bought at great discounts. They represent primitive collections where collectors used stick pins or glue to affix them. The devalued stamps are not in good conditions, being thin or having pinholes.

History & "fluff" as stamp subjects
Article Abstract:
The earlier career of Howard Hughes as a giant pioneer in aviation and the designer of aircraft is recounted. He was a pilot who in 1938 broke the round-the-world flight record. The new record was 91 hrs 14 min and 10 sec. He would make an excellent candidate for a commemorative stamp.
