Model airplane enthusiasts can make simple modifications on their airplanes to increase lateral controllability. Examples of such modifications include adding tip plates, winglets, subfins and subrudders and installing engine cowls.

The 6th annual International Jets over Deland fly-in was held on Jan. 26-29, 1995 in Deland, FL. The show featured numerous model jet aircraft such as a MIG-29, an A-6 Intruder and FD4 Skyray.
