Tilt wing V/STOL aircraft
Article Abstract:
The feeder-line tilt-wing V/STOL model airplane features aerodynamic devices that allow complete control of the vehicle. Designed by retired Grumman Aerospace vice president Bob Kress, the model is capable of conventional and vertical takeoffs and landings. Its forward-swept wing concept promises to provide rapid service to airports and remote areas even without runways.

Electric model crosses Long Island Sound
Article Abstract:
An electric-powered model seaplane called X-Sounder successfully completed a 16-mile trip across Long Island Sound from Connecticut to Port Jefferson, NY, on July 7, 2001. The project was a joint effort by 10 members of the Silent Electric Flyers of Long Island model aircraft club.
