Article Abstract:
The American Gold Star Mothers Inc is an association of mothers who have lost their children in wars, and provides volunteer services to war veterans. There are only 3,000 members. The US Postal Service issued several postcards honoring these women in 1948.

Valley Forge National Park celebrates centennial
Article Abstract:
Valley Forge National Park in Pennsylvania will celebrate its 100th anniversary with festivities in 1993. Three stamps were issued in May and Jun 1993 as part of the celebration. The site was the historic encampment of George Washington in 1777-78.
