Viva amber!
Article Abstract:
The discovery of a large amber deposit in the Sierra de Cantabria mountain range of Basque, Spain, is considered to be the most important amber discovery of the 20th century. Preliminary research on the amber deposit shows that it is 110 million years old and contains varied fossils.

The Amber Room returns to life
Article Abstract:
The recreation of the Amber Room started in 1979 with the purpose of restoring the largest amber masterpiece in the world. The reproduction of the masterpiece placed great emphasis on replicating as close as possible the hues of the original amber panels used in the room.

Ancient DNA in amber
Article Abstract:
Scientists recovered the oldest DNA fossils by excising insect gene fragments imbedded in amber for 40 million years. Entomologists believe that this brings science closer to finding dinosaur DNA fossilized in amber.
