Whale sighting

Article Abstract:

Marine biologist Ben Pabst and paleontologist Hans-Jakob Siber led the excavation for whale fossils in Peru's Atacama Desert. Geological processes had turned this ancient sea into a desert which provided explorers with fine fossil specimens. Their findings are being showcased in various exhibits.

An elegant affair

Article Abstract:

The second edition of the annual gem show is scheduled to open on Aug 26, 1999 with the special display of the Victoria-Transvaal diamond necklace as one of the highlights. The museum will also exhibit fancy colored diamonds, platinum jewelry and rare gems.

Munich discovered

Article Abstract:

Fossils, minerals and lapidary art were among the featured works at the 1991 Mineralientage Munchen held in Munich, Germany. A special exhibit in honor of Professor Hugo Struntz's mineral classification system was also presented.
