OMC will start manufacturing Evinrude outboards as either four-stroke or Ficht fuel-injected. Two-stroke outboarders will definitely be eliminated while some four-strokes will be electronically fuel-injected. Despite the changes, OMC reiterated its commitment to the Johnson outboard motor line.

Merc's new DFI

The Mercury 200 DFI outboard unites conventional two-stroke technology and the high-pressure fuel injection of the Australian Orbital engine. It features a newly designed air compressor, concave piston domes and a sensor that monitors exhaust pressure.

OMC LEAPs ahead

OMC has introduced a six-horsepower and an eight-horsepower four-stroke outboard motor with LEAP technology for improved efficiency. A larger two-stroke, 150-hp outboard will be launched in March.
