Robin O'Neill engaged landscape designer Larry Weaner to unify a meadow, wet swale and shady woodland for her half-acre garden. He chose native plants that could thrive comfortably in their own microclimate. He emphasized the plants' ecological relationship to each other for sustenance.

Leaf blowers are a good tool for gardeners because they shred leaves finely to make mulch or a good compost ingredient. Seven blowers were tested for home garden use. All of the machines operated well, but the Weed Eater VIP 2595 and the Toro Super Blower Vac were easiest to use.
