A lazy day on the Buffalo River

Buffalo National River runs 132 miles from the Ozark Mountains to the White River through Arkansas. The middle and lower sections are ideal for canoeing and swimming. Tyler Bend Visitor Center displays exhibits on the prehistory of the area and an 18-minute film of the Buffalo River.

This Tennessee town savors its past

Jonesborough, TN, is the oldest town in the state, as settlers were already living in the area even before the state itself was created. As a result, the town reflects its history, with many of its buildings dating back to the 18th century.
