House decks can be made more decorative and functional by opening up the railings and staining them with wood colors. Wood must be stained to match using solid-colored or semitransparent stains. The resulting product is a deck worthy of becoming a place to entertain guests.

Brick terraces can be built in back yards where grass refuse to grow. A brick terrace design with a venting system which allows water and air to flow to surrounding trees is presented.
