Attack of the 50 foot slug!

Article Abstract:

A gardener goes out at night to find out what sort of pest is destroying his green beans and thinks he hears and sees a large creature of an unknown sort. He can find only deer tracks in the daylight and decides it must be deer, slugs and rabbits devouring his garden.

How we grow: an open letter to the members of the National Organic Standards Board

The National Organic Standards Board is mandated by the Dept of Agriculture to establish rules on what constitutes organic food. It is important that these rules do not bend to allow any kind of chemical treatment of seed or water.

An organic gardener describes a project to improve the appearance of his garden. He moved a compost pile, trimmed some trees that were blocking the view of the garden and replaced assorted debris with containers of flowers.
