Into the mouths of babes
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that baby toys containing the plastic polyvinyl chloride (PVC) present a health hazard to children. Many PVC toys, including pacifiers and inflatable playthings, are treated with phthalate toxins. Phthalates are harmful if ingested. Toys containing phthalates are being removed from retail outlets all over Europe. Toy manufacturers should be using non-toxic alternatives.
