Booming blooming
Article Abstract:
The Blooming Boulevard program of Minneapolis, MN, in which urban neighbors volunteer to plant gardens in public areas near their homes and yards, has grown from a small community project in the 1980s to over 400 participants in 1996. The melting plot
Article Abstract:

Immigrants from Spain built courtyards centered around fountains, while English settlers planted herb and knot gardens. The seeds of prized fruits, grains, vegetables and ornamental plants are so widely cultivated that it has become difficult to identify their origins.
