Charlotte, NC, is the third-largest banking center in the US and boasts of imposing and magnificent architecture in Uptown Charlotte. Among notable buildings are the NationsBank Corporate Center, North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, Founders Hall, Interstate Tower and the Carillon.

Upfront with a landscape plan
Article Abstract:
Landscape renovation and house remodeling were simultaneously done on Walter and Mabel Brice's residence. The couple hired landscape architect Shirley Carter to design the garden to ease drainage and parking problems. Carter also installed two terraces, arbors, lattice grid and brick planters.

Eastern shore pavilions
Article Abstract:
Architect Hugh Newell Jacobson designed a 4,276-square-foot house consisting of five pavilions each containing a different room. The pavilions are linked by naturally-lit corridors. The exterior is made of white clapboard characteristic of houses on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
