Article Abstract:

Tart cherries are not often found in the market so they must be homegrown. Several varieties of tart cherry are discussed. Tips on growing cherry trees including buying the stock, growing, pruning and harvesting are provided. Netting can be used to deter birds. Plum curculio, a pest can be shaken off.

Fruit tree failure? Wrong rootstock often to blame

Article Abstract:

Rootstock, a twig or bud grafted onto a fruit tree for planting, is used to grow a dwarf tree that will produce fruit more quickly. Sometimes it will overwhelm the tree. The US Dept of Agriculture has released a study on rootstocks for apple, cherry, and other trees.
