Many canes, walking aids, and their handles are highly prized by collectors, especially 19th century with unusual designs that exhibit excellent craftsmanship. A history of cane making and use is presented, along with tips on collecting canes.

Mechanical iron banks

Mechanical iron banks, which used moving parts to depict an elaborate series of motions while depositing coins, became very popular in the late 19th century. Today they are more valued by collectors than any other toy besides dolls.
