Article Abstract:

The period of great depression (1929-1939) in U.S. lead the people, especially children reading books such as 'Cinderella' to overcome the stress and escape from the grim environmental reality. The varieties of books designed specifically for children to reduce depression with their history, collections, categories, illustrators, publishers, prices, sources etc are described.

Ripleyana: a hobby you can believe in

Ripley's first cartoon appeared in the 'San Francisco Call' newspaper in 1918. The internationally syndicated cartoon has since then run in more than 328 daily and Sunday newspapers in 125 countries in 17 different languages. Ripley also entered the movies, radio, books, and TV, with licensed products that are now coveted memorabilia.

Collecting joker novelties: the fun hobby

Article Abstract:

Joker novelty collections are discussed in the light of being a hobby amongst people, often reflecting contemporary cultures with an element of humor attached to it. Along with verbal jokes and cartoons, joker novelties also appear to be very dominant in the field of humor and comedy.
