Compost beats disease big time!
Article Abstract:
Compost made of lawn clippings, leaves and tree prunings totally eliminated brown rot in organic peach orchids in California's San Joaquin Valley. In nearby orchids that used toxic fungicides, brown rot was found on 24% of the fruit. Other studies showing compost's usefulness in controlling disease are described.
