The wrap-around dress was initially popular because of von Furstenberg's timing. In the 1970s many women entered the work force and the drip-dry wrap dress without zipper, was sassy, and practical. In Fall 1997 new versions will appeared in a revival sparked by a von Furstenberg's daughter-in-law.
