Efficiency rules at HWI
Article Abstract:
Hardware Wholesalers Inc leadership adopted an efficient management style that helped the company grow and achieve financial stability. Low operating costs generated high patronage dividends that benefitted the hardware co-op members. HWI expanded its regional member base and helped its dealer-members prosper through its database marketing program called Do it Best Customer Program. HWI has no national advertising program and uses fewer staff members than other co-ops to manage its distribution center.
