Gardeners can sow seeds indoors about six weeks before the last frost date in their region. Seeds are sown in trays or individual containers, watered gently and covered with plastic until they sprout. Sprouts must be sunned and seedlings must be thinned or transplanted to avoid crowding.

The fan flower Scaevola aemula requires little cultivation and grow as lush shrubs with light purple colored flowers. The plants can be planted in spring in bloom even during summer under direct exposure to the sun. They require liquid fertilizer at least once a month to spread.

Taking photos during fall can be enhanced by several useful tips including moving closer to subjects and taking photos of trees from underneath the canopy. Other tips include taking photos of the sky, shooting more than one frame and not leaving film in the camera.
