Glasshouse Works: the secret's out

Article Abstract:

The nursery, Glasshouse Works in Stewart, Ohio originally achieved fame as a nursery for exotic plant connoisseurs and has moved on to garner praised as a popular nursery for a variety of gardeners. The owners Tom Winn and Ken Frieling became interested in the mail-order plant business after helping a friend propagate some plants for commercial sale. The proprietor's developed a passion for the work and are often recognized for their willingness to share both plants and knowledge with other nurseries and botanical gardens.

Russell Graham: northwestern natives

Russell Graham: Purveyor of Plants offers gardeners a wide variety of seeds and plants. Around 85% of propagation is done onsite at its Salem, Oregon, location, and customers can order individual colors rather than mixes. The nursery's specialty is northwestern species, including cyclamen, primroses and geraniums, but also sells exotics such as ginseng and Peruvian lilies.

Roslyn Nursery: rhododendron rhapsody

Article Abstract:

New York state's Roslyn Nursery has grown in accordance with its owners' expanding interest in many different flower varieties. Beginning with rhododendrons and a single greenhouse in 1984, the business has grown to 25 greenhouses and includes azaleas and a wide range of hybrids. Many have been propagated from botanical gardens and nurseries from around the world.
