Article Abstract:

Helen and Ethan Bell built a beach house at Whidbey Island, Washington, with a main house, a guesthouse, a garage and shed inside a small compound. Many classical architectural elements were incorporated, broad decks on two levels were built, and plants and shrubs were planted in the courtyard along with wooden obelisks.
