High on roses
Article Abstract:
An apartment dweller with limited space turned her five by 15 foot balcony into an attractive rose garden. Although she struggles with unpleasant weather, and the burden of carrying large containers of plants and soil through her home, the lovely and fragrant blooms are worth the trouble. Beginning gardeners should start with potted roses and try to protect the plants from frost.

Carefree roses
Article Abstract:
Gardeners who plant roses should use a combination of preventative methods to ensure the health of their flowers against disease and pests. Non-toxic substances such as garlic, oils, soap, baking soda, and antitranspirants can be used to control fungal diseases. Benificial yeast and fungi are biological controls that can also save roses from disease.
