Former Pres Thomas Jefferson was also widely renowned for his cooking and gardening skills at his Monticello residence in Virginia. Jefferson has planted 250 varieties of vegetables. He was also known for his cuisines, which were said to be half Virginian and half French.

Off to see the wizard
Article Abstract:
In April 2000, the Library of Congress is celebaitng its birthday, and the 100th anniversary of the copyright for L. Frank Baum's "The Wizard of Oz." To celebrate the two occasions, the library is opening exhibitions on the Wizard of Oz, and Thomas Jefferson.

Virginia celebrates Jefferson
Article Abstract:
A calendar of events celebrating the 250th birth anniversary of Thomas Jefferson is presented. While the events will be held throughout Virginia, a large number will be held at Monticello. Activities are scheduled until Dec 31, 1993.
